Protein would be unlimitedly available, cost half as much and be free from chemicals, if beef were fed on alfalfa instead of corn and soybeans. There is no excuse for doing agriculture the way it is being done. It puts poison in the food, pollutes the environment and erodes the soil. Vegetables in the U.S. should be grown in all fifty states unstead of on California sand. The U.S. could feed the world organic food at half the cost.
