Scientists use a greenhouse analogy to convince nonscientists that there is a problem. Nothing on planet earth could be farther removed from a greenhouse effect than the atmosphere. Greenhouses block air currents to keep out weather and wind. The atmosphere creates weather and wind. How can the source of weather and wind keep out weather and wind? The fakes add the word "trapping" to the brew. Supposedly a greenhouse traps heat; so a greenhouse effect in the atmosphere supposedly traps heat. Trapping heat is one of the biggest challenges in engineering. Insulating materials are bulky and expensive. None exist in the atmosphere. Heat escapes from the atmosphere easier than any other substance on planet earth, because radiation is emitted from a transparent gas immensely easier than from the surface of opaque solids such as the earth. Seasonal effects warm and cool the earth, as heat is stored in surface mass. It takes several weeks to equilibrate surface temperatures. There is about a six week lag between longest or shortest days and warmest or coldest days. Yet the air at nights cools ten or twenty degrees in a few hours, because radiation is emitted from a transparent gas immensely easier than from the surface matter. To tell the public, which knows nothing of the science, that a greenhouse effect in the atmosphere is creating human annihilation couldn't be a bigger fraud in science. |
