The Incompetence Problem

There is a strange tendency for incompetent persons to acquire power over competent persons. It stems from the demands which absorb competent persons. Incompetents are not so restricted by demands, because they cannot meet demands. Faking results gives them a lot more freedom to dominate than producing constructive results would.

Also, incompetents would get nowhere if they weren't dominating by faking results. There is not a middle ground for incompetents. If they aren't overwhelming others and collaborating or conspiring to dominate, they are losing. Getting a little bit done in an inadequate manner is not allowed as a middle ground for incompetents.

It also means incompetents are in a winning or losing battle, which is subjective, where they are supposed to be producing an objective result. So they frame everything in terms of "us vs. them" instead of objective reality.

As everything in society gets more complex, there becomes a shortage of competent persons who can meet the demands. So incompetents fill in the slots without the ability to meet the demands, which results in a lot of fakery. There is also a focus on imagery in place of real results, where incompetents are failing to meet demands.

A lot of consequences follow fakery replacing real results. Standards shift from objective realities which define the nature of problems and solutions to subjectivity which protects the position and image of incompetent persons.

Subjectivity moves the playing field out of the problem solving domain and into the power mongering domain. Instead of real subject matter with explanations, a battle of "us vs. them" occurs. Incompetents revert to a concern about themselves, where problems demand objective realities.

An example is that the science and technology of renewable energy and electric vehicles is claimed to be correct because of the amount of money businesses have invested in them. Investing money is a power mongering tool not a form of scientific evidence.
