The Nature Of Populism

Populists campaign using short quips for claims, making promises to the sky and degrading opponents. Never can explanations be added to the quips, because increased reality shows the fakery.

Populists actually believe that no one else has tried to solve problems. So all they have to do is list the problems they plan to solve, and it is presented as if it were something new.

Implied, if not stated as an accusation, is that the only reason why problems exist is because no one wanted to solve them. The populist is supposedly changing directions in fixing things.

Populists tend to get elected, because rational persons are deeply involved in the methodologies that are needed to solve problems. There has been five thousand years of social evolution invested in the solution to problems. Which means the realities involved are extremely complex.

To discuss the complexities of problems and solutions places demands upon rationality and shows limitations. So the most dishonest approach is the most successful—not the least reason why there needs to be such a thing as impeachment.
