Conservatives are now putting together the scattered pieces of their work converting the structure of a democratic government into the structure of a totalitarian state.

Trump is doing so in a more rapid and dramatic manner than other conservatives would do, simply because he is more obnoxious than usual. But the result was predetermine to occur in some form.

The result is the consequence of the past forty years of conservative scheming. When conservatives said they were creating "a new normal" in 1981, they were pointing to the result Trump produced. Even if they didn't know it, their purpose of replacing the laws of government with arbitrary whim could only result in totalitarian fascism.

Conservatives harp endlessly on freedom. They don't assume freedom is the ordered existence which laws create; they assume freedom is to have no laws imposing upon them. The simple reason is because laws are largely designed to overcome corruption, while conservatives depend upon corruption to get more out of life than their incompetence produces.

Realities do the same thing laws do, they place demands upon people. So corrupters try to get realities out of their way. But there is no way to erase realities; so they are obliterated through fraud realities.

Trump's scheme is to remove any influence in government besides himself. Any information produced by bureaucracies is either removed or altered to fit his scheme. Bureaucrats are told not to produce any information that has not been sanctioned by persons under Trump's direct control. Numerous information sources have been closed down and replaced with processes under Trump's control.

An example is transferring information out of CDC, so the virus statistics are not visible and no one knows how bad the pandemic is. Information is altered to trivialize the pandemic, so Trump can pretend that he has done the best job ever at controlling a pandemic.

Trump is trying to absorb all elements of government so there is no influence other than his own.

It's sort of a misnomer to say Trump does all of that. He is nothing but a mascot for conservatives. He is too stupid and incompetent to do anything but tweet and call people names. But conservatives behind the scenes find that they can accomplish goals they have been working on for decades with Trump making it official through the power of the presidency.
