Absence Of Knowledge

Social deterioration includes an absence of knowledge-based assumptions and decisions. Instead of knowledge, consensus of like-minded persons determine what reality is. That's like using the Mafia to determine what the law is. Social decay is an inevitable result.

Hyper partisanship is often recognized as a major obstacle to progress. No one can figure out what the cause or answer is for the partisanship. Lack of knowledge based standards is the cause of partisanship. Basing standards on knowledge would be the answer, but power mongers would have to be replaced with rational persons to get there.

Truth ends conflicts, which ends partisanship. Knowledge is the path to truth. The failure to produce enough knowledge and truth to end conflicts is a measure of power mongering overwhelming rationality.

Organizations hire the lowest dregs they can find to handle their email and similar communication, so the deciders don't have to be responsible for criticism. The ones who have the most to hide don't even have email addresses. Usually contact information is framed in terms of how the deciders can help us instead of how we can inform them. Finding out what critics have to say is not on their purview.

If knowledge were relevant, knowing what critics or opponents have to say would be necessary. Opponents can only be corrected when knowing what they have to say, but also important is that knowledge is always limited and shows up from diverse sources. Critics and opponents almost always have something to add to a subject. Not wanting them to add to a subject indicates a railroad job in place of knowledge-based decisions.

Knowledge and rationality are antithetical to mongering power. Power can only be enhanced with corruption, not rationality. As power mongers take over everything, knowledge and rationality get shoved farther out of the decision-making processes.
