October 3, 2020 Normal people wonder why rules can be defied so blatantly, as occurring in present government, with no price to pay. It's because conservatives have the purpose of replacing rules with arbitrary whim. The "new normal" which was instituted by Reaganites in 1981 had that purpose. It just took awhile to accomplish the result. The fact that conservatives find the result acceptable shows that it is a deliberate result, not something they oppose. The process had to start with small steps, because "the new normal" is a different normal. It's not what rational persons assume to be normal. It was a chipping away at normalcy for forty years. Trump is a product of those forty years of replacing normal with a contempt for rules—rules as governmental structure and laws. The end result was not visible at first, but the standard never varies. So when the end result looks socially unacceptable, the standard does not change. In other words, conservatives didn't know where the ship would end up when it left the dock. They just knew what type of ship they wanted to be on. They don't intend to get off that ship just because Trump disgraced their image. The nature of that ship is described in dozens of previous web pages that I wrote. It starts with incompetents finding rationality to be too demanding for them allowing opponents to gain an advantage over them. To be winners, something other than rationality needs to be the method of measurement. Force replacing reality is the alternative that corrupters choose as their method of being winners while being incompetent. To be winners requires an overwhelming force. Power is mongered to create that force. The power of numbers is the primary form of power that corrupters depend upon. So incompetent corrupters aggregate into a power structure created from group power. That power structure is what they promote, not a particular person. Trump represents that group, but he is no more than a mascot. The results are determined by the power of the group. The methodology is to destroy rationality with force. It doesn't look good. Painting the image over with lies is attempted to pretty up the destructivity. If it doesn't work, nothing about the process changes.
