What Charismatic Means

February 13, 2021

It's hard to imagine why 39 persons would commit suicide when Applewhite told them to. It had to be more than a supposed spacecraft behind the Hale-Bopp comet. Why did Applewhite impress such persons? That concept needs to be evaluated, because it is an element of demagoguery.

Superficially, persona is a large part of the attraction to charismatic persons. Some persons spend a life-time building a persona. That means they characterize themselves with impressions. The impressions are created through environments. Supposedly, the impressions tell something about the persons who do that.

What do environments tell about charismatic persons? Trump used a lot of gold paint trying to say he was worth gold. Applewhite used smoke and mirrors. He would line up several mirrors to create multiple images of himself. Why does that sort of thing impress some persons?

It does so because it is translated into power. The followers of charismatic persons are looking for a path. Not any old path, but of course the path to power. And they assume some persons know that path and can put their followers on that path.

Normally, the path in life is defined by normalcy. Normalcy means there must be some real worth to the worth of persons. But not to the followers of charismatic persons. The worth is illusive and totally disconnected from reality.

Worth has to be disconnected from reality for that purpose. Otherwise, reality defines a totally different path, where competence is determined by constructivity based upon rationality.

The alternative path is defined by impressions rather than objective realities. The persons following that path are looking for an alternative to objective reality and impressions are the alternative.

So-called charismatic persons are exploiting the need for impressionable persons to replace objective reality with impressions. So they create impressions.

The impressions say nothing about real worth. They cannot. Real worth would defeat the purpose of finding an alternative which does not require objective reality, constructivity or rationality.

Persona creates the fake worth. It is developed through environments such as gold paint or smoke and mirrors. So charismatic persons create the environments that impress impressionable persons and pretend that those environments are a measure of their worth.

But this much would be so flat and dull that it probably would not go anywhere without a more basic element. The most basic element that drives corrupters, leaders and followers, is the need to make sin pay.

Corruption is the decision to make sin pay as the alternative to constructivity. Corrupters assume that someone knows how to make sin pay, while they never totally succeed themselves. So they go looking for the persons who know how to make sin pay.

Charismatic persons have supposedly found the winning formula. That's why they are the leaders and can afford to spend money on gold paint and smoke and mirrors.

The driving force is similar to the apple in front of the horse. Every corrupter is constantly on the verge of making sin pay. What they don't realize is that no one has ever succeeded.

Corrupters can't believe that it would be difficult to make sin pay, because they are always millimeters from succeeding. Every sin almost gets them there.

The reason why that impression exists is because there is always the three second win with every attempt at being a winner by degrading someone else. The three second win creates the impression that it should be possible to make sin pay.

What happens after four seconds and beyond cannot be determined by corrupters, because they are so out of contact with reality that they cannot evaluate that much complexity. It's what happens after four seconds that determines the result, but corrupters are cut off from knowing that.
