August 18, 2020 Demagoguery was the "new normal" that Reagan initiated, as conservatives took over the world in 1981. Since the universe creates the real normal based upon molecular laws which no one can defy, the new normal could only be a defiance of the laws of the universe. There are only two alternatives at the most basic level: adherence to or defiance of laws of the universe. Reagan was championed for bringing defiance to the top of the power structures and being a winner doing so. Being a winner is the only test of validity in the nether world where corruption prevails. Normally, differences are within the boundaries of the real normalcy. Within that sphere, people try to solve their problems through the objective realities that define their problems and solutions. Not where there is demagoguery. Demagoguery moves out of the problem solving sphere and into the problem creating sphere. How can corrupters get by with it? By having "eighty years of liberalism gone awry" to be corrected (in 1981). That translates into meaning someone else put a lot of effort into creating a social order to be exploited. Demagoguery has always existed in human rule; and through the dark ages and beyond, it may have often been the prevailing influence over humans. But things changed with the advent of science and subsequent dependence upon rationality being applied to laws of the universe as the answer to human problems. Particularly coming out of WW-II, science ruled and bowled over all opponents. Even religious conservatives had to admit that evolution existed or keep their views out of view. That is, until Reagan came along and freed them. Freedom is the central creed of conservatives, because they feel that they were freed by the demagoguery that Reagan prevailed with. Corrupters were shoved aside and left behind by the rational and enlightened world. With Reagan, they rose to the surface of the social order and prevailed against the opponents who were shoving them aside. What did they bring to the surface of the social order? A complete absence of rationality and a disconnect from the objective reality which exposed their incompetence and corruption for what it was. Now they could pretend to be superior—the freedom to place corruption above constructivity, to lie about it with impunity and bowl over all who got in their way through the misuse of social structures converted into power structures. At the origins are self-centered persons living in a bubble that they constructed for themselves as protection from external reality that exposes them as incompetent corrupters. With no contact with reality or ability to produce rationality, there were no boundaries or limits in contriving imaginary realities for justification—the freedom to prevail without restrictions. Demagogues rule through misuse of communication—probably the reason why Reagan was called "the great communicator"—an attempt to compensate for his inability to produce valid communication. Valid communication is an explanation of concerns. Corrupters are incapable of producing explanations, because the cannot connect one reality to another. So they pretend that a substitute version of communication is superior. Blocking out reality is the purpose of the communication scheme. (The philosophy of Kant appears to be a lesson in how to do that. Kant could take a sentence with eight words in it and produce 64 permutations as supposed sentences.) The Reagan method was to produce irrelevancies in a slow and endless manner (to tire any expectation of more than that) and then declare the result to be a proof of something. Corrupters are endless provers. Any irrelevant realities framed as good or evil serve as proofs. There is no counter-argument or protection against an attack by corrupters, because there is no relationship to reality in their claims. The more disconnected from reality, the more invincible. It's demagoguery, because it lifts all corrupters to the surface of the social order, not through a measureable result but through the ability to win—to win at producing corruption. There is an attack purpose to the fake communication of corrupters. It's more of an emotional attack than a reality attack, since their realities do not stand up to evaluation. An emotional attack is on the order of scandal. Scandal is not a conveyance of realities, it's an emotional attack which depends upon recipients giving the result a pretended meaning. In other words, corrupters are abusers. They misuse communication as a tool for abuse. To argue with them is to get beat up. They prevail not by making themselves worth something but by degrading opponents to prevail against them. The best protection against demagoguery is written words which can be clarified, stabilized and evaluated. And of course, there is a major drive to prevent it from happening. Email is being pushed aside and made less useable with formatting conflicts. Textual information is being replaced by video and audio which cannot be significantly used as reference material. Journalists had that responsibility—to convey truth corrections. All of the journalism greats harped on that concern. Now days, it's as if they didn't exist. Journalists now lead the pack for communication corruptions, not all, but the prevailing influence. More than anything, it's the absence of what needs to be known, not just in coverage but in no explanations of rote transference to a point of incoherence. The absence of truth allows fakery to rule. Most of the fakery is aligned upon fixing something. Everything needs to be fixed. So fakes claim to be the fixers. But everything goes from bad to worse with corrupters doing the fixing. Demagogues claim they are going to solve every problem in existence starting, of course, with the biggest and most intractable problems. Their fixing consists of three or four word sentences. Any more words than that prove them to be incompetent and corrupt. Having no qualifications or plans never gets mentioned in the machine gun repetition of lies which leave no space for criticism. Corrupters do reality control by blocking out alternatives and opponents. Power allows them to do that. Try to fix the result someplace else. The elsewheres disappear into oblivion. |
