The Ordered Existence Dispute

August 19, 2020

The underlying conflict between conservatives and liberals is whether existence should be ordered or whimsical. It's not that conservatives are not dead set on a set of concerns; it's that their set of concerns do not consist of a standard that creates order.

Ordered existence is pre-determined by laws of the universe. Evolution shows the effect. The biologically fittest survive and become more fit through the laws of the universe. Weakness results from an inability to cope with laws of the universe. Ecological influences are determined by laws of the universe.

When human existence starts with human bodies, it is locked into laws of the universe, just as evolution is. Assuming laws of the universe can be defied is the ruination of man.

Of course, conservatives cannot understand the above three paragraphs, or they would not be trying to defy the laws of the universe. They assume they are locked onto the laws of the universe.

Where conservatives err is in assuming their subjective whims are laws of the universe. Being dead set on something doesn't make that something a law of the universe. In other words, conservatives are driven but not by laws of the universe; they are driven by needs which cause them to defy laws of the universe.

Anyone can agree that gravity will keep going "downward." But not everyone agrees that human laws are needed to create a social order. Same thing.

If everyone could align perfectly upon the laws of the universe, no government would be needed. But when endless conflicts with laws of the universe overwhelm the human social order, human laws are needed to fix the problem as much as possible.

Conservatives are implicitly (subconsciously) saying people will align upon the laws of the universe better if perfectly free to do as they please with no humanly constructed laws imposed upon them. Couldn't anyone see that they are wrong? They are wrong, because they do not understand what they are doing and saying and don't frame the question in these terms.

Conservatives are wrong, because their abstract understanding of what laws are is deficient. They view laws as an imposition by enemies upon their right to monger power, dominate and exploit to get more out of life than their incompetence produces. They don't know that the social order breaks down without humanly created laws.

Conservatives sort of assume that maybe some laws are needed but not others. The laws that they don't want to exist are the ones that prevent them from mongering power to dominate and exploit in imposing their incompetence onto society. To assume those laws are not needed is to assume laws are arbitrary, which means not essential.
