August 23, 2020 Conservatives have been hell bent on privatization since they took over the world in 1981. They decimated the third world with an unobstructed wave of privatization which was generally combined with austerity and usually following the bankruptcy of governments through the IMF. An example now in the news is the coercive requirement for hospitals to redirect their pandemic information away from the government and into the hands of a private business. Sort of like Facebook and Google owning your personal information for any purpose they see fit. Privatization in the third world meant selling public utilities to private business, which were totally incompetent and more criminally inclined than the Mafia. Nothing has every changed about privatization. The utilities became largely unavailable and too expensive for all but the rich. No other result has ever occurred or been expected from privatization. With Trump in power, conservatives are attempting to apply their thrid-world schemes to the U.S. government. They always have harped on privatization but could not accomplish much with statutory laws in the way. Laws no longer matter with Trump in power. Privatization is now steamrolling over the U.S. like a banana republic. Privatization means the public no longer has anything to say about the operations. Private business are not accountable to anyone. Everything they do is in the dark including their bookkeeping. If there were any way to look into that darkness, it would look no different than Enron methods. The only thing unusual about Enron is that too many of the complexities were visible to the journalist. Normally, no penetration of the darkness is possible. Democracy was a protection against such criminality. People don't control their own destiny where privatized criminals make the decisions over their lives. That's why procedures were carefully described in the Constitution and follow-up statutory laws. Conservatives rabidly oppose all such laws. Privatization is how they flush the laws of government down the drain, so they can operate at criminal standards with no accountability to the public. Infantile explanations with no pretense of credibility are used as excuses for the criminality of conservatives. Three word quips is the most the public gets. Subjective values are the explanation with nothing about methods or consequences. Conservatives are totally incapable of describing methods, first because they are clueless and secondly because their criminality won't stand up to evaluation. So you support the values as the supposed answer to everything. How could criminals have anything but the most perfect values? There is an underlying purpose to privatization. It is a highly visible example of the underlying purpose of everything conservatives do. That purpose is to strip accountability from their criminality by removing openness and accountability from social activities. The endless whining of conservative about something being wrong does not have a clearly described target. They cannot stand being accountable for their incompetence and criminality through rational standards. Accountability is the mysterious evil that conservatives are trying to eradicate from social structures.
