Persons who can't accept the way things are, because rationality leaves them behind, conspire as a group to replace the way things are with a state which they can dominate.

Corrupters create a group for promoting their concerns. Group power is their way of getting there.

Power is needed to bowl over rationality, since rationality is the problem which exposes incompetence and corruptness. Power is used to destroy realities, which makes rationality impossible.

Power is used by corrupters as a force. A force is that which destroys realities. Sometimes destroyed realities are replaced with alternative realities, and sometimes destroyed realities are not replaced.

Either way, objective reality needs to be removed as an obstacle for corrupters, because corrupters get left behind where rationality is used to solve problems and create a complex social order.

The worst corrupters don't care whether anything replaces objective reality, while less corrupt corrupters prefer to substitute replacement realities for objective realities.

When nothing replaces the objective realities which are destroyed, the result is social chaos. When a complex social order is being stripped of objective realities, fascism is the transitional state. Fascism is an attempt to whimsically arbitrate a complex social order without objective realities including laws getting in the way. It's a transitory state, since no complex social order can be sustained without objective realities protected with laws.

Less corrupt persons don't want to get to that point too rapidly, so they tear down objective reality in a slow and limited way. They do that by using substitute realities. Substitute realities sort of mimic objective realities but are not really functional. Being nonfunctional, their only purpose is to maintain corrupt power.

Fake science and technology exist for that reason only. They are nonfunctional. They bankrupt society and destroy environments. But they allow incompetent corrupters to dominate a complex society without rapidly reducing it to chaos.

Renewable energy and electric transportation are up against insurmountable obstacles, but they are promoted not as technology that works; they are promoted as a source of corrupt power.

Fake technology is a replacement reality. In fact, the fakery creates a much greater significance than objective reality would. In other words, real transportation is a minor background concern, where fake transportation is an overwhelming concern. Someone has to arbitrate such overwhelming concerns. That's what incompetent power mongers do.

To a large extent, the social arguments are not over corruption vs. noncorruption; they are over slow corruption through replacement realities vs. rapid corruption through total arbitration through whim. The persons who tried to correct the errors where shoved aside long ago. Yet the arguments rage, not over right and wrong but over fast deterioration of arbitrary whim and slow deterioration of substitute realities.

Green is a substitute reality which replaced environmental concerns. It is opposed by conservatives who want to arbitrate the social order on the basis of whim without even substitute realities getting in their way. Anyone who thought objective reality should prevail through rationality was shoved out of the process long ago.
