The bliss of ignorance is throwing the social order off the rails. Science and technology is where the bliss of ignorance by know-nothings is the most visible and provable. The gullibility of nonscientists results in exploiters taking over subjects, misdirecting results and ripping everyone off.

Corruptive exploiters don't need to know a thing about science or engineering to exploit the ignorance of gullible persons. All they need is cost-plus contracts, which means the more wasteful they are the more money they make.

Al Gore was totally unqualified to say one word about the science of global warming. Yet he set the standard for know-nothings taking over the subject.

One of the problems is that ignorant persons are so superficial that their assumptions have no definable meaning. It takes basic knowledge to pin down complex questions. Science is the study of basic knowledge. Without scientific knowledge, superficial irrelevancies send assumptions into oblivion.

For example, Al Gore used Mt. Kilimanjaro as his test of the science of global warming. There is nothing about Mt. Kilimanjaro that can define anything in science. It's not basic knowledge.

But wasn't Al Gore getting his information from scientists? That's one of the biggest problems in society—the assumption that persons who know nothing of science can speak for scientists.

Science has become so complex and demanding that most scientists do not meet the demands. That problem is more serious in physics than biology due to the abstract nature of physics.

When ignorant scientists make errors or false claims, they get criticized by other scientists—that is, under normal conditions of science which are rapidly disappearing. So what do incompetent scientists do? They have nonscientists do their bidding for them. Nonscientists take the subject out of the realm of science resulting in social forces replacing the basic knowledge of science.

The nonscientists who try to represent science have a mentality that tells them anything they can quote in science is fact, as if there were a science that produces nothing but facts. One of the obvious problems with that assumption is that there are so-called scientists that will take any absurd position and make any absurd claims. But the know-nothings assume they are always representing the correct scientists.

Which gets to the second problem: There is no simple way to represent the complexities of science no matter who is right or wrong. Scientists refuse to use definitions for that reason. They cannot represent the complexities in simple sentences. Yet know-nothings assume they can.

So know-nothings grab at simple points of science which they assume promotes their cause. The simple points don't have definable meanings, while a large part of science, particularly physics, is wrong.

The falsehoods of the so-called greenhouse effect are determined by the basics of science. Only a few scientists evaluate those subjects. They have been removed from the social forces by know-nothing journalists who claim the science is settled and no criticism can be allowed.

The bliss of ignorance is a large part of the problem. What it means is that it takes knowledge to understand the absence of knowledge. It's stunning how simplistic nonscientists assume science is. They assume trivial quirks are the essence of science. When they get snowed by actual science, they turn away and promote their trivial quirks.

Fake technology is as misaligned as fake science, because the engineering is over the heads of most persons. But the tragedy is that fake technology has more immediate consequences and is destroying energy and transportation systems.

Electrifying transportation is as crazy as traveling to Mars. Renewable energy and the electrification of transportation hit their unmovable walls about twenty years ago. Nothing significant has been accomplished along those lines since. Yet know-nothings are blissfully destroying technology, as if they were on the verge of solving everyone's problems.

Traveling to Mars has become one of the goals of society. There isn't enough energy in hydrogen and oxygen for doing anything significant in space. It took three energy sources to put the Space Shuttle into near-Earth orbit—one huge liquid fuel tank which dwarfed the Shuttle plus two solid fuel rockets attached to the sides. Getting out of Earth's orbit takes a lot more energy, not to mention getting back. In space, it takes as much energy to stop as to start. Burning the wings with air friction is not as practical for large projects as small ones. It only works for small objects at low velocities using extremely heavy plates for absorbing the heat.

Most engineers are as incompetent at new and demanding tasks as the physicists. They don't find out how much energy it takes in space until they start adding up the numbers. Then they want to get out of their commitments, while idiots keep demanding more ridiculousness.

In meeting the increasing demands of complex technology, the science and engineering become the same. The demands for basic knowledge are being overwhelmed by the bliss of ignorance produce by know-nothings who hijack the subject using journalism and organizations to impose their stupidity onto everyone.
