The primary reason why society is destroying its energy systems and technology is an attitude problem. Instead of acquiring a sense of responsibility for truth and knowledge, a promotional attitude obliterates truth and knowledge. Promoting is assumed to be more important than knowing.

It's preposterous how know-nothings relate to science and engineering. They take a position on science and engineering on the basis of whim and then impose their ignorance onto everyone including real scientists and engineers. That's an attitude problem.

Sometimes, know-nothings try to study the science of social issues, but time has shown that they do more to mislead themselves than inform themselves doing so. One reason is because it is primarily propagandists who produce the material. A more basic reason is because superficial study without background knowledge results in erroneous assumptions due to over-simplification.

One of the problems is that incompetents can find anything they are looking for to reinforce their assumptions. There are incompetent scientists who will feed promoters of causes anything they want to accept.

The net result is that the promotion of causes gets aligned upon exploitation by power mongering incompetents. Fake science and technology was an exploitable source of power for corrupters. Those causes made lords of corruption out of know-nothing incompetents.

Christ said to look and listen to acquire understanding and judge for yourselves what is right, because the alternative is to have incompetent power mongers imposing fraud upon everyone.

Now days, the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel On Climate Change) is used as the unequivocal authority on climate effects. The group is nothing but fraudulent politicians who can't spell science. No scientists are allowed to get anywhere near them but go-along incompetents. To use such fraud as the basis for climate effects is a measure of the state of fascism that has overtaken society.
