The Winner-Loser Attitude

June 7, 2022

A lot of persons assume everyone is trying to be a winner; and therefore, some persons succeed at being winners, while some are losers. Deciding who are winners and losers is part of the process.

There is a lot of missing reality in the area of constructivity that goes with those assumptions. In fact, the assumptions are quite reductionistic in omitting the complexities that go with constructivity.

The way it works is that persons who are overwhelmed by their inability to be constructive reduce their concerns to the simplicity of the result rather than the complexity of the process. Focussing on the result rather than the process results in a lot of corruption, because ends don't justify means. If means don't exist and only ends exist, then the ends are always justifying the means.

In other words, means (procedures) are not going to be accidently constructive. If they are omitted in assumptions, then nonconstructive means will be the default result. That's because the requirements for constructivity are complex and do not occur by accident.

A lot of effort goes into shaping constructivity, which primarily occurs in the education system, since knowledge is a basic requirement. That means the persons who reduce their assumptions to winners vs losers are not accomplishing much in the education system.

A lot of persons acquire a lot of power and status without accomplishing much in the area of knowledge and constructivity. One of the reasons is because they find a substitute in the memorization area that does not require very much knowledge.

Unfortunately, the education system is highly oriented toward memorization, which allows memorizers to go through the process without acquiring much knowledge. It's a relative concept, as there is a combination of memory and knowledge required for all purposes.

Sometimes, students demand and get nothing but "true and false" or "multiple choice" exams. Those types of exams test memory rather than knowledge.

The purpose of science is to produce basic knowledge. All knowledge is abstract. Knowledge is a human synthesis that represents objectively existing laws and events. That means real science is impossible without sufficient abstract knowledge. Yet incompetents go through the process of becoming scientists without the abstract knowledge that is required for science.

When incompetent scientists go through the process without sufficient abstract knowledge, they are primarily concerned about winners vs losers instead of how to produce and apply scientific knowledge in a constructive manner.

That's why power mongers promote fake science and technology. The faker allows them to be winners without the complex demands for constructivity.

Fake science is used to glamorize incompetents rather than solve problems. Journalists are an essential element of the equation in glamorizing fake science. Incompetents make the best promoters of corruption, because they do not question results or strike out on their own in producing competing realities or criticism. So the journalists who promote fake science, which has the only purpose of glamorizing incompetents, are selected to be a bunch of know-knothings who impose preposterous fraud onto society. Fraudulent claims of measuring gravity waves and a helicopter on Mars are recent examples.
