The most visible and striking activity of conservatives at this time is retaliation against opponents through invalid means. Conservatives are trying to paint opponents as law breakers by contriving absurdities about normal activity. That occurs while conservatives break every law in the book and pretend that doing so is nothing but a "life-style" difference.

Conservatives in government use investigations for that purpose. They assume investigations can turn the normal and necessary purposes of their opponents into criminality. Isn't that what their opponents do—investigating and getting criminality out of it—as if there were no difference between perpetrating crime as the concern and generating crime out of investigations.

Claiming the election was stolen is not based on evidence but the attempt to find the evidence after the conclusion was drawn. What is the basis for the conclusion, when no evidence can be found?

A key element of that problem is that conservatives are absorbed in a battle against enemies. There are no two sides to their war. On the rational side, the purpose is to salvage democracy by adhering to laws. On the conservative side, the purpose is to oppose the use of validly created laws, because real laws condemn conservatives as fascists trying to produce Nazism.
