Getting Engineering Wrong

The latest version of so-called artificial intelligence is being promoted as if it were going to revolutionize something in the area of technology and production. The evidence shows it cannot produce anything beyond criminality. The reasons why are extremely apparent.

The only thing the junk does is produce a quasi-average of a large data base. The only large data bases available are literature and digital images. No one above the eighth grade has any use for average slogans in literature. No one but criminals have any use for modified images.

Professionals are supposed to use original source material and responsibly evaluate it, nowhere more so than in engineering. But real engineering is disappearing and being replaced with computer substitutes, which appears to be one of the motives for pushing artificial intelligence to an extreme—attempting to use computers as a substitute for real engineering.

The main problem in engineering is the same problem that reduced physics to rubble. Incompetent power mongers took over the social structures and converted them into power structures for their personal gain at everyone else's expense. Real scientists and engineers were shoved out of the process and replaced with sycophants in exactly the same way Trump did in government and the way whistle-blowers were destroyed in the bureaucracies for decades.

Many scientists and engineers tried to explain the problems with the fake science and technology being imposed onto the public by know-nothings controlled by the power mongers. The real scientists and engineers were shoved out of the process if not out of science and engineering. The ones that remain must stay silent or they are out.

So-called renewable energy, electric vehicles and self-driving are the clearest examples, as the public is beginning to see for themselves in the worthlessness of the junk. Less visibly, the same problems exist throughout science and engineering.

Engineers cannot test procedures the way the used to, while complexities increase the demands for doing so. The problems began to show up in the 1980s, as electronic components from Asia showed up with unreadable data sheets. Then surface mount electronic components were created; and they cannot be tested in usual engineering labs. So the engineers were supposed to use computer programs to evaluate their circuits. That's like reading a comic book to determine how to get to Mars.

Only hands-on engineering will produce real products, because there are so many complexities in modern engineering that they need to be tested. Also, engineers do not discover the nature of the complexities without doing hands-on work.

The most bizarre example is the claim by bureaucrats that electric motors are supposed to get 96% efficiency. A law was passed requiring it. That number equals the resistive load of an electric motor. It is determined by measuring the resistance in the copper wires. Omitted is the inductive load that transforms the electrical energy into kinetic energy. It can never be more than 40% efficient. Omitting the inductive analysis is beyond stupidity. Yet the entire energy and transportation systems are being reduced to that level of engineering and scientific stupidity.

The problem shows up in absurd military blunders. The latest aircraft carrier was supposed to have eight elevators for moving aircraft to the deck. The elevators that were produced didn't work. Journalists said magnetic lifts were used. There is no such thing as magnetic lifts. Even if they meant electric motors, the elevators wouldn't work, because four electric motors would need to be coordinated with each other for balance, which isn't possible for electric motors, because the starting and stopping is too delayed and variable. The inductance of electric motors causes current to lag voltage resulting in a variable and undetermined time lag for responses. That variation makes coordination with motors impossible.

The engineers who constructed the elevators were either beyond stupid in assuming there is such a thing as magnetic lifts or they must not have done enough hands-on work with electric motors to know such simple elements as time lags in inductive forces. Many engineers would have, which is why previous elevators in aircraft carriers used steam energy for lifting. That means the real engineers were shoved out or silenced in producing the electric elevators.

So the military decided they would have the Ausies build some littoral ships. The metal contact surfaces weren't grounded, which resulted in inductive energy corroding the metals. Now the whole project is being scrapped in about five years of failures. Previous engineers knew the metals needed to be grounded. Recent engineers didn't know that.

The most advanced and useful fighter jet to be built was the F22 Raptor. About two dozen were built and half of them are being junked out for parts for the other half. There is no way to re-establish supply chains for parts.

So the F35 is being used to replace the F22. But the F35 cannot be finished with a trillion dollars being spent on it. A superior jet could be build earlier, while an inferior jet cannot be built now days. The engineering that once existed no longer exists.

That's why the energy and transportation systems are being destroyed to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere—because science and engineering was replaced by know-nothings imposing fraud and stupidity onto society.

There was five times as much carbon dioxide in the atmosphere during dinosaur years and fifteen times as much when terrestrial life began, because oceans remove CO2 from the atmosphere and tie it up as calcium carbonate and limestone. Now, all life is on the verge of extinction due to a shortage of CO2 needed for photosynthesis. Greenhouse operators add three to five times as much CO2 to the air to improve plant growth.

One molecule in 2,500 rounds to zero.* Trapping heat in the atmosphere is an impossibility. There is no significant radiation for carbon dioxide to absorb, because it only absorbs long wave radiation and only cold substances, such as the surface of the Earth, emit long wave radiation. Cold substances emit almost no radiation for carbon dioxide to absorb.

So how did physicists get carbon dioxide that wrong? By incompetent power mongers taking over physics and using fake science to make themselves lords of fraud.
