Corruption requires a lot of tactics, because it is not justifiable. To promote something unjustifiable requires misrepresentation. Included is the need to avoid rationality which requires incoherence.

Rationality is making relationships between realities by explaining claims. The process of producing rationality and the resulting truth expose corrupters as the corrupters that they are. So they fight a war against and avoid rationality.

Incoherence is required in promoting realities without the relationships between them that rationality creates. To use incoherence as a tactic requires setting up context which implies without stating.

Two places where incoherence gets absurd are conservatives promoting their cause and journalists white washing corruption as normalcy.

Conservatives promoting their cause attempt to imply absurdities, which are often a tit-for-tat accusation attempting to reverse the accountability for their corruptions. An extreme example is the plan to impeach Biden when conservatives take over the House of Representatives. They pretend that Biden produces corruptions worse than Trump's provable criminality; and to do that they use absurd claims which would never stand up to accountability.

More pervasive is an endless string of journalistic portrayals of corruption being normal politics by equating the criminality of Trump's sycophants with the political positions of opponents. Journalists put Trump in power by focussing on him to the exclusion of normal politics and portraying his decadence as important news with no indication of the corruptness.

That pattern of journalism is so pervasive that critics develop terminology for it, such as "false-equivalents" in portraying corruption as equal to rational concerns. Another term for it is "both-sides-ism."

Why are they doing that? Because they are corrupters. Corrupters are trying to replace the rationality which defeats them with implications which are not justifiable. Their purpose is to prevail over other persons to get more out of life than their incompetence produces. They need to monger power to do that, which requires overwhelming rationality with fraud.
