Fascism is not a historical analysis; it's a moral analysis. The simple reason is because corruption is a moral analysis, while historians tend to rewrite history to justify their corruption.

Fascism is the process of bring corruption out of the background and into the foreground. It shows how much corruption has always existed in the background.

Fascism is appealing to corrupters, high and low, because it creates the impression of success where there has been, and always will be, failure at making corruption successful. Corrupters believe in their corruption. They assume the failures are always due to enemies and enemies can be defeated to make corruption successful.

So when a fascist ruler rises to power, corrupters are dead certain that he was successful in promoting the purposes and values that corrupters promote; and they swarm to the cause overwhelming political processes and governments.

Trump shows why fascist rulers rise to the surface. He created a clear alternative. Usually, corrupters take a wide variety of positions, which amounts to "six of one and half dozen of the other." In other words, there isn't a clear reason to pick one corrupter over another. So political contentions split up corrupters into groups. Trump put the corrupters under one, clear umbrella, so they weren't split into groups.

That was only possible because Trump had no political background creating commitments to normalcy. He was free to disconnect from everything. He had no relationship to government even after taking office. He would not look at anything or listen to anything anyone in government tried to tell him, unless it was information on how to sustain his personal power. He spent his time tweeting about himself, while other persons ran the government.

The result was that conservatives had a free hand in government doing what they were not allowed to do under other conditions. Real politicians placed a lot of constraints upon followers, no matter how corrupt, in their attempts to sell their politics as normal and in everyone's interest. Trump made no such attempts. He promoted crass corruption with no restraints.

Trump was the equivalent of a died in the wool Nazi. His purposes were the same as the Nazis in promoting white racism and not allowing government or laws to get in his way. No one in U.S. politics dared to take such a position before. That gave corrupters an unprecedented opportunity to impose their corruptions onto society.

It's also the reason why Trump is sure to win the next election, unless something drastically changes the equation. He still pulls together an undivided group of corrupters looking for the secret in making corruption successful.

Conservatives are making sure Democrats never win another election and getting by with it. The tactic of gerrymandering alone guarantees them success; but more significantly, making it impossible for the lower classes to vote is their primary ticket to success. The lower classes have to stand in voting lines for ten hours or more, while upper class persons walk in and out without lines. Busy people can't stand in lines for hours on end—certainly not the elderly and frail nor low class working people who don't get a minute off for voting.

But aren't there more options for voting, now that the pandemic made voting more difficult? That's why conservatives have been focussing on the alternative methods of voting. It is what defeated them earlier; and they are making sure it doesn't happen again.

The most visible characteristic of fascists is their use of force and violence. They get by with more force and violence than usual, as they rise to power being protected by the emergence of a ruler who promotes force and violence. Trump said he would pardon the insurrectionists when he becomes president again, after encouraging them to start with.

Why force and violence? Because corrupters are overwhelmed by all elements of rationality including truth, knowledge and ordered existence as required by the laws of the universe which define life and the solutions to problems. It takes force and violence to oppose the universe.

Rationality exposes corrupters as the corrupters that they are. It places demands upon them which cannot be met through corruption; and truth is generated by the interactions of realities which rationality creates. Truth is the only force corrupters cannot defeat.

Truth is the communicated representation of unified reality. Unified reality is the objective reality consistent with the laws of the universe. Truth only exists to the extent that it is communicated, which means openness and accountability are required.
 
The Nature Of Nazism

When the mass of corrupters come to the surface as fascism, the ones who have always been at the top as successful power mongers see the resulting power as an opportunity to carry their purpose to new heights. Their new heights are the nature of Nazism.

To understand Nazism, the underlying attitude and assumptions must be viewed, because the outward expressions seem to come out of nowhere in absurd ways. The purpose of Nazis shows what the purpose of power mongers always is.

That purpose is to prevail in imposing reverse standards onto society. Power mongers don't want their standards to be view negatively by lower class persons who are more attached to objective realities.

That's why the Reaganites said their purpose was to create a new normal. The real normal is always determined by the laws of the universe. Defying the real normal is the purpose of incompetent power mongers.

So power mongers maximize their methods as much as possible in attempting to normalize them. They can go much farther in pushing the envelope, when fascists succeed in getting low level corrupters into the process.

White racism is maximized by cleaning up the gene pool. Domination is maximized by murdering anyone who doesn't like it. Exploitation is maximized by fighting wars to rip off the rest of the world for resources.

Those values, standards and purposes are what power mongers are always trying to promote in covert ways. It becomes Nazism when they can do that in overt ways.
