The conservative diatribe is entirely designed to reduce rationality to chaos. The attack mode of conservatives is not "for" anything; it's against rationality.

Corrupters cannot tolerate rationality, because it exposes them as the destroyers that they are. First, it shows that they are incompetent at producing rationality or its products as constructivity. Then one of the products of rationality is truth which creates accountability for the destructiveness.

In attacking rationality, the only possible result is chaos. Rationality is the concept of ordered existence. The absence of ordered existence is chaos.

But conservatives don't know they are promoting chaos, because the end result is too far removed from their immediate concerns. As always, corrupters imagine marvelous results to flow from their destructiveness.

In that vein, the attack upon rationality by conservatives is always linked to grandiose claims for purposes. Destroying government is getting the government off their backs. Destroying the revenue of the government is lowering taxes. Having corporations burn three trillion tax dollars on stock buy-backs is improving the economy. Destroying the lower classes is making eagle scouts out of workers by getting them off couches in front of television sets.

Power mongers (always conservatives, though they tend to say the opposite to deflect criticism) will not allow homeless problems to be solved, because they need intimidation to force the lower classes into subservience. Solving such problems is easier than tolerating them; but the homeless problems was designed through considerable effort as a social tool.

Layers of methodology have evolved over the decades for increasing the homeless problem, such as requiring low class workers to have a work history before they can be hired. That means no more than a few weeks unemployed. So the unemployed are guaranteed to stay unemployed. Then eradicating low cost housing while shoving the lower classes out of medical assistance has been locking in the problem with endless over-kill in recent years.

The resulting problems are what corrupters thrive on, in part as complaints projecting the causes upon enemies and in reducing social demands to a level that allow corrupters to prevail in getting everyone else below their own feet.

Corrupters don't like the result of their destructiveness; but they are totally unaware of cause-and-effect relationships. When their destructiveness produces intolerable conditions, they imagine that enemies must be the cause; and it riles up their base as an attack engine against opponents, which gets them elected to the government which they try to destroy.

The underlying motive for destroying rationality in the conservative agenda is an attempt to remove impositions upon incompetent corrupters in their attempts to get more out of life than their incompetence produces. Rationality creates complexities which place unmeetable demands upon incompetent corrupters. They want results to come out of nowhere through whim instead of evaluation of the complex requirements for constructivity. Supposedly, a black hole of imagination is the only true source of everything of value.
