Affirmative action has again become an important issue, as Supreme Court Justice Jackson explained that there is no legal requirement for avoiding recognition of race. So it's important to add some philosophical elements to the subject of affirmative action.

Conservatives have just about obliterated the concept of affirmative action over recent years through false premises in claiming the most qualified persons are being cut out of processes through affirmative action favoring racial balance.

Conservatives are close to unqualified for human existence as explained on hundreds of web pages here; so their claims cannot be very accurate on the nature of qualifications. Closely related is the most central theme of the philosophy on this web site, which is that incompetent corrupters have taken over the social structures putting power mongers in control of everything resulting in fascism overtaking society which is rapidly approaching Nazism.

That chain of events shows how fraudulent the concepts of qualification have become in wake of the developed fascism. In place of constructivity, power mongering has been the determining influence over the social order.

Power mongering is based on conspirators removing constructive persons from the social structures, including getting real scientists shoved out of science, while know-nothings impose fake science and technology onto society.

One of the consequences is the operating principle that there is no sin but the truth about sin. That means lying to promote motives is supposedly superior to constructivity. Lying to put incompetent corrupters in control of our lives made the U.S. noncompetitive in the global economy, while imperialists try to do a correction through force and violence, such as Trump's sycophants redesigning the trade laws to beat up opponents and get a better deal. Beat up opponents don't make good trading partners.

Therefore, in properly evaluating affirmative action, something closer to objective reality needs to be used as the criteria in place of the values of conservatives. One of the most determining factors on qualifications is environmental influences determining experiences. The most significant example would be progressives coming out of the depression years of the 1930s and WW-II with the purpose of putting a social order together with the modernizing tools that became available with improving technology.

For approximately twenty years, between 1945 and 1965, the progressives put together the basic structures of the modern social order. It happened so fast that incompetent corrupters could not keep up and therefore had almost no influence over the result.

This does not say there were not other social problems particularly in the area of racial injustices which were slowly being corrected. Instead, it says a narrowly defined set of activities put together modern institutions oriented around new technology designed for solving human problems.

The environment and experience of progressives in coming out of the 1930s and WW-II shows the nature of constructivity. In effect, people were coming out of a background equivalent to poverty which created a need to solve problems.

The need to solve problems selected for the types of persons who were capable of solving problems and gave them the justification for producing problem-solving activities. And the history shows that by the time the problems were being solved, incompetent corrupters were overtaking the process and converting the social structures into power mongering corruptions.

Therefore, the test of worth is not in the power of incompetents conspiring but in the experiences and environments which select for constructive and progressive persons and allow them to produce real results for the good of everyone.

That means the values promoted by conservatives in reducing the social order to white racists and misogynists do not represent constructive worth. More representative of worth are the experience and environments which promote constructivity as problem solving purposes.

Persons solving problems are in contact with objective reality. Incompetent corrupters mongering power are out of contact with objective reality. Contact with objective reality is needed to solve problems. Being out of contact with objective reality is a guaranty of social doom.

Affirmative action adds persons with problem-solving backgrounds and purposes to the social processes, while the opposition to affirmative action by conservatives has the purpose of putting incompetent corrupters in control of social processes.
