Corruption creates self-centeredness. The definition of corruption is disconnect from or conflict with objective reality. Without objective reality, self becomes the only possible perspective for orienting realities. It's living in a bubble.

Totalitarianism is self-centeredness in the control of power. When self must be the reference for everything, everything else must be suppressed. Suppressing everything else is the essence of totalitarianism. Encompassing everything would be the opposite of totalitarianism. All must be tolerated instead of opposed to encompass complexities.

Self-centeredness results from an inferiority complex that incompetent corrupters acquire. Persons who feel overwhelmed by rationality withdraw and try to reconstruct a state of existence in a bubble disconnected from objective reality—largely disconnected from the entire outside world.

Being disconnected from external reality reduces reality to subjective concerns. Outflow consists of values and emotions, where social interactions are supposed to be objective.

Being inappropriate socially makes self-centered persons pariahs, which compounds their problems. They feel they are being dealt with unfairly, not understanding why subjective impositions are not socially acceptable.

Their compounded and emotional problems cause them to be resentful and hateful. The hate does not have identifiable causes, so it is directed in strange ways. It is largely persons who oppose their corruptedness whom the hate is directed against.

Corruption falls first and foremost upon vulnerable persons. The victims react against the cause of their problems. The result is that corrupters develop a war against vulnerable persons with no directly visible cause. The cause is a complex sequence of reactions.

The primary escape for self-centered persons is other like-minded persons. They commiserate and pamper each other's psychological needs for security. A group generates the power of numbers which is used to overwhelm opponents.

The power of a group makes corrupters feel superior to persons who function as individuals, which means all normal persons. Since normal persons do not use group power, they do not create a parallel opposing force to those who use group power to get their way.

The lack of an opposing force to group power causes corrupters to assume they found a path to a superior way of doing things. Since normal persons do not do the same thing, the results seems to be a sign of superiority to corrupters. Not being able to add things up properly, corrupters assume that the group power which they generate is a sign of their superior capabilities; and therefore, normal persons must be inferior.

And abracadabra, the result is self-centered fascists who consider themselves to be superior persons and self-righteously take over societies with one of their own in control as an autocratic, totalitarian demagogue operating by whim in contempt for laws and ordered social existence.
