Electric vehicles will always be wasteful. They will never be anything but a toy for the rich. There are physical barriers to improvement that make electric vehicles impractical.

Batteries double the weight of autos over efficient designs. Weight means wasted energy. All of the efficiency improvements of autos since the 1980s was in reduced size and weight. There has not been a technological improvement since fuel injection replaced carburetors in the 1980s.

Activists thought diesel was the wave of the future, expecting ever higher compression to increase efficiency. The problem was that high compression caused the inert nitrogen in the air to be oxidized into a harmful pollutant. As a result, all diesels create too much of a pollution problem.

Battery power is up against insurmountable barriers due to the limitations of chemical energy. The endlessly claimed improvements always turn out to be trivial or impractical for that reason. The miss is a mile. It isn't going to be fixed by improving battery characteristics.

And the mass of the batteries isn't the only problem. Charging batteries is always going to be intolerably slow. Not only does speed-charging harm the batteries, it takes excessive amperage.

Whether it's speed charging or not, the electrical systems will never be adequate for significant transportation purposes. Electrical systems were designed for toaster level energy. The lines were put in place over a century of time. They can't be increased by a factor of 10,000.

You say petroleum use is only 6 times as much as electrical use. Petroleum is moved to the edge of cities in generating electricity, so the lines can be shortened. Transportation is scattered everywhere, which means the lines must be a thousand times longer. The lines cost more than all other expenses with so-called renewables, and loss of energy as heat along the lines is set at 50% to reduce the amount of metal and number of lines.

The purpose is to use something other than petroleum, which is even more preposterous at the technology level. Solar and wind have already run into barriers which cannot be improved. What activists cannot understand is that renewable does not mean unlimited supply. Very few places have enough sunshine or wind.

Sea coasts are the present target for windmills. Supposedly, there is a lot of wind there. But guess what. The distances could not be greater in getting the energy to consumers.

Germany cannot get their windmill energy from the coast to southern Germany. Activists say to put the lines under the ground. It takes 200 times as many lines to put them underground, because the voltage has to be reduced from two million volts to ten thousand volts. High voltage arcs to anything nearby. Underground wires are designed for toaster level energy, not transportation.

Carbon dioxide is as safe as glucose and almost depleted as oceans continually absorb it. The slight increase is a temporary improvement. It really takes a lack of common sense to assume one molecule in 2,500 in the atmosphere could heat the atmosphere.

What it means is that both the electric vehicle scam and science fakery are power mongering tools, not solutions to society's problems. It takes fraud to put incompetents in power by shoving out rational persons.
