Global temperatures are determined by the velocity of wind over the surface of the Earth. That's because evaporative cooling is the largest effect by far in determining temperatures. It's like the difference between blowing on hot soup and letting it sit.

Doesn't any idiot know that? Not the scientists who prevailed in hijacking science and shoving out real scientists.

Looking at weather maps shows that result in spades. Wherever temperatures are warmer than usual, a high pressure zone is parked resulting in air currents no moving. High pressure air masses always have those characteristics. They consist of still air which stops moving with the normal air currents causing heat to accumulate and air pressure to increase due to rising air.

The effects are most significant over the oceans due to the evaporative cooling that moving air produces over water. But the effect can be observed inland, as temperatures increase where there are high pressure air masses representing still air, where normal air currents would exist.

The effect of high pressure air masses causes ocean temperatures to increase, at least near the surface, due to the absence of evaporative cooling. Oceans normally trap the sun's energy, as the radiation travels about ten meters (30 feet) into the water, while the energy does not easily get back out.

In fact, oceans constantly heat between ice ages; and only ice ages cool them back down. Ice ages have been cycling at extremely short intervals of every 100 thousand years. The next one is scheduled to begin at any time.

The cause of ice ages is not known; but basically, they occur when global temperatures cause oceans to rise to a point where northern Pacific ocean water flows over the Bering Strait and heats the Arctic to a point where increased snowfall in the north does not melt during the summers. The increase in snow reflects away solar energy triggering the next ice age.
