Almost every social criticism and suggested solution is missing the context making the criticism inept and the solutions nonfunctional.

The context is social disintegration due to incompetent power mongers taking over the social structures and converting them into power structures for their personal gain at everyone else's expense. Incompetence means they bankrupt everything they touch. But at the same time, they use power to rip off the public draining the economy dry and creating nonfunctionality.

Trillions of dollars are channeled upward every year and redistributed among the power mongers through gambling casinos created out of the stock market and fake digital currencies. Then the money hoarders re-invest in start-ups removing banking from the process.

So banks turn to the gambling casinos for income. That removes bank loans from increasing the money supply. With globalization, the need for increasing the money supply increased drastically. So a new concept was created called "quantitative easing" which allowed the Federal Reserve to directly increase the money supply independent of bank loans.

In that mess, a normal economy no longer functions. Billionaire investors are not a substitute for a functional economy. They invest on whims with no concept of what society needs for proper development. Investing with computers on the brain compounds the problems instead of solving them. It dumps the kids into a pit of social media which they can't escape from, generates nonfunctional methods of doing things such turning the energy and transportation systems into nonfunctionality and assumes absurdities such as going to Mars is the solution to the problems.

During the 1990s, the purpose of businesses was redirected from public good to profiteering, called financialization. That means corporations and industries were bought up for profiteering purposes, stripped of resources and put under nonfunctional management—nowhere more devastating than healthcare.

The result is that average persons can no longer afford healthcare, housing or education. An increase in pay doesn't begin to solve those problems. The flare-up of union concerns was not a product of social institutions blossoming into wonderland; it was a result of desperation which could not be fixed through increased pay.

The origins of that problem is incompetents bankrupting everything they touch but more than making up the monetary difference in ripping everyone off. That means 0.01% of society hoards the resources, while society becomes nonfunctional.

An example is "Medicare for all." There is not a functional tax base for paying for it. The profit tax disappears into a vapor; and corporations pay almost no taxes anymore. There would need to be a stable tax base, such as an expense tax, to pay for Medicare for all.

The Europeans created a functional equivalent of an expense tax called the value added tax. With that tax base, they could create healthcare for all, though it is falling apart for other reasons related to the disintegration of functional societies.
