Trump Against Power?

October 30, 2020

Based on the indirect evidence that outside viewers see, Trump is apparently telling his followers that he is going to change the way things are done by sympathizing with the hard working, middle class, blue collar workers who have been shoved aside by elites in Washington. Something Trump spent his life studying, promoting and experiencing.

One of the most common explanations given for Trump's support by his base is that they are kicking over the apple cart. The terminology can be varied, but the point is that Trump's followers are rebelling against something in the area of corrupt power. Presumably, Trump instills that impression in his followers.

The results Trump produces are always the opposite of his claims. He builds up the apple cart and kicks over rational constructivity. Speaking in opposites is how corruption is promoted. It's analogous to the Mafia promoting safe banking and opposing criminality.

During Trump years, about three trillion tax dollars were burned by corporations for no reason than keeping the money away from the lower classes, as conservatives have been doing since Reagan started the process in 1981. Corporations primarily used to money for stock buy-backs, which should be, and used to be, illegal, because that process makes insiders rich at everyone else's expense.

Corporations pay almost no taxes anymore, so they burned someone else's money. It went into the stock market, where it gets recycled among the ultra wealthy as an economic redistribution process. Doing that is not kicking over the apple cark; it's plating the apple cart in gold.

The Trump Administration cut food stamps for the claimed purpose of forcing low class workers to look for work. Is the apple cart at the bottom of society or the top?

Trump's policies are cold-blooded destroying minorities, immigrants and low class persons. Is Trump kicking over the apple cart of humanness?

If there has been some injustice that needed to be opposed, nothing that Trump does opposes the injustice. The only identifiable realities that Trump opposes are truth, justice, knowledge and rationality. There is no corrective influence in the process that he creates. There is nothing Trump kicks over that should be kicked over.

Yet Trump's base is just as convinced as they ever were that Trump is on their side doing what they want him to do. It means Trump is appealing to the lowest motives of corrupters, not attacking some evil.
