Journalists are pretending that Trump improved the economy. Rationalizations are used picking nonsense out of complexities.

The Trump economy is a total disaster of stifled trade and noncompetitiveness created through tariffs.

Competitiveness in global trade requires extremely sharp decisions. A jack ass running interference is a total disaster. An example is Ford submitting to Trump's demands and then going out of the small vehicle business.
 

 
There are hundreds of lawsuits against the Trump administration by corporations which are being removed from competitiveness in the global economy due to Trump's tariffs. Corporations are suing, because Trump does not have legitimate authority to usurp Congress in making tariff decisions based on fake national emergency claims.

Nothing Trump has ever done would improve an economy. Corporations burning tax dollars on stock buy-backs doesn't improve an economy.
